The former military governor was honored with an Honorary Doctorate Degree by Ahmadu Bello University at the institution's 42nd/Diamond Jubilee Convocation. The university acknowledged his pivotal role in establishing renowned Science Secondary Schools in Kano State, contributing significantly to national and global development.

Additionally, in his hometown of Kontagora, Niger State, he established Mustapha Comprehensive School and Sani Bello Vocational Training Centre, embodying his philanthropic spirit and dedication to community development. These institutions have played a significant role in empowering over 3,000 youths with specialized skills, including 418 individuals with special needs.
