ABU Law Faculty to Honor 12 Distinguished Scholars for Meritorious Service

ABU Law Faculty to Honor 12 Distinguished Scholars for Meritorious Service

Faculty of Law, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria will tomorrow honour a total of 12 former staff of the faculty in appreciation for the long, dedicated, and meritorious service they rendered to the faculty and the university.

Of the number, four, who passed away in active service, will receive posthumous awards. 

Those to be honoured are the late Prof Kharisu Sufyan Chukkol, Prof Musa Yakubu Gelle, Prof Ibrahim Na'iya Sada, Prof Yusuf Aboki, Prof Aminu Muhammad Gurin, and Prof Ibrahim Ahmad Aliyu.

Others include Prof Jummai Mohammed Audi, the late Prof Irokalibe Goldface, Prof Nuhu Mohammed Jamo, the late Prof Yusuf Abbas Dankofa, Dr Umar Salihu Mohammed, and the late Alhaji Muhammad Baba Shani. 

The event, which will have the Vice-Chancellor, Prof Adamu Ahmed, as the Special Guest of Honour, will take place at 10:00am at Moot Court, Faculty of Law, on Friday, 19th December, 2025.

The Dean of Law, Prof Salim B Magashi, disclosed this in a notice for the award ceremony to honour their retired professors, colleagues, teachers and mentors.

At the event which will be presided over by the Vice-Chancellor, tributes will be paid to the awardees by their respective Heads of Department. 

The Dean of Law, Prof Salim B Magashi, who will give the address of welcome, will assist the Vice-Chancellor, Prof Adamu Ahmed, in presenting the awards to the recipients.
