Afe Babalola University Multi-system Hospital, Ado-Ekiti, established with a vision to reduce medical tourism, is equipped to address Nigeria's health challenges, according to former Senate Leader, Senator Ibrahim Gobir. The hospital, with modern facilities and qualified medical personnel, seeks to compete with international standards and discourage citizens from seeking medical treatment overseas.

Senator Gobir, now an ambassador of ABUAD, pledged to showcase the hospital's achievements globally. During a courtesy visit to ABUAD founder, Aare Afe Babalola, Senator Gobir applauded the institution's ranking by reputable organizations, highlighting its growing acceptability both locally and internationally. He encouraged other higher institutions to emulate ABUAD's commitment to improving the nation's education sector.

Former Governor of Zamfara state, Aliyu Shinkafi, echoed Senator Gobir's sentiments, praising Afe Babalola's vision and commitment to quality education. Shinkafi advocated for increased funding of existing universities, citing the need to produce skilled graduates capable of addressing national challenges. He expressed concern about the creation of more universities without adequate funding, pointing to the importance of prioritizing the improvement of existing institutions.

He attributed such issues to a lack of decisive action by the Federal Government in granting operational licenses to institutions that fail to meet required standards. Babalola emphasized his determination to make ABUAD one of the world's top 100 universities, focusing on cutting-edge research to advance humanity.

Babalola criticized the establishment of universities without proper infrastructure and adherence to guidelines. He advocated for adherence to the guidelines set by the Nigeria University Commission (NUC) and urged the Minister of Education to address the issue. Babalola stressed the importance of quality education in national development and called for an improvement in public universities.
