Achievement Spotlight: UNILORIN’s Dr. Kehinde Kadijat Kadiri Bags ARCON Fellowship

We proudly announce that Dr. Kehinde Kadijat Kadiri, the Acting Head of the Department of Mass Communication at the University of Ilorin, has been honoured with the fellowship of the Advertising Regulatory Council of Nigeria (ARCON).

With over 16 years of teaching experience in advertising, public relations, and journalism, she stands as a beacon of knowledge within the Mass Communication Department.

Her commitment to nurturing talent in advertising is evident through the successful organization of advertising pitch competitions, namely Pitch-A-Ton, since 2019. These competitions have brought together nine tertiary institutions across four states in North-Central and South-West Nigeria, with two collaborations with ARCON.

In addition to her academic prowess, Dr. Kadiri has made significant contributions to publications in national and international journals, exploring the intricacies of advertising campaigns and health communication.

Her trailblazing projects through the NGO she founded in 2017 - The Grassroots Aid Initiative  (TGAI) have earned her over 20 prestigious awards, including the Gani Fawehinmi Award for Outstanding Impact in 2019, the Outstanding Young Woman of the Year 2021 by the National Youth Council of Nigeria (Ogun State Chapter), and the coveted Leadership Impact Award of 2022 by CSR Reporters, among others. 

Dr. Kadiri holds the esteemed position of Associate Professor in the Department of Mass Communication, University of Ilorin.

The fellowship induction took place in Lagos on Friday, November 24, 2023.
