ADSU Vice Chancellor Leads Delegation on Courtesy Visit to Governor Fintiri
The Vice Chancellor of Adamawa State University (ADSU), Mubi, Prof. Augustine Clement, led members of the university's management and union leaders on a courtesy visit to Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State on July 10, 2025.
The purpose of the visit was to express gratitude to the Governor for his developmental strides in the university and across the state. Prof. Clement commended the Governor for his consistent support and proper funding of the institution, highlighting key achievements recorded since assuming office.
The Vice Chancellor informed the Governor of the university's plans to establish a College of Medical Sciences and a Faculty of Engineering, which are crucial to the institution's academic expansion and relevance. The Governor assured the university of his administration's commitment to supporting these initiatives within the first year of the Vice Chancellor's tenure.
Leaders of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) and the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU) also expressed appreciation to the Governor for his unwavering commitment to the university. They praised him for keeping his promise to appoint an internal Vice Chancellor and described him as a "Transformer" and a "Talk and Do" Governor.
Governor Fintiri welcomed the Vice Chancellor and his team, expressing satisfaction with the appreciation shown by the university. He encouraged the university to focus on research and innovation to address internal challenges and assured them of ongoing collaborations to improve water supply and electricity to the institution.
