Alex Ekwueme Federal University Ndufu-Alike (AE-FUNAI), Ebonyi State, has clinched third place at the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria (CIPM) South-East Regional Quiz Competition held virtually on Monday, June 23, 2025.

The contest, which featured undergraduates from management, social sciences, and related disciplines across universities in the region, tested participants’ knowledge in human resources, business management, and allied fields. It also provided a platform for winners to network with industry leaders and human resource professionals, enhancing both academic and career prospects.

AE-FUNAI was represented by Chiamaka Udoka Igbe (Economics & Development Studies), Akuma Joshua C. (Criminology and Security Studies), and Daniel C. Ogbu (Sociology).

In a letter to the university, CIPM Registrar/CEO, Oluwatoyin Naiwo, praised the students’ energy, knowledge, and enthusiasm, noting that their performance reflected AE-FUNAI’s commitment to excellence. The university will receive a plaque, editions of the CIPM Human Resource Management Journal and People First Magazine for its library, while the students will be awarded certificates, CIPM-branded polos, and other recognitions.

Vice-Chancellor, Professor Sunday Elom, commended the team and reaffirmed his administration’s resolve to support students in national and international competitions, with the goal of producing globally competitive graduates who will contribute meaningfully to national development.
