The AfDB Internship Program offers a monthly stipend, health insurance, and a chance to contribute directly to the Bank’s strategic objectives under its Ten-Year Strategy (2023-2032). The program aims to identify potential future employees while equipping interns with essential skills across sectors such as energy, agriculture, and industrialization.
Eligibility Criteria for AfDB Internship Program
To qualify, applicants must be nationals of AfDB member countries, aged between 18 and 30 at the time of internship. Candidates should be currently enrolled in a master’s degree program at an accredited institution or have graduated within the past year. Proficiency in English or French is required, along with experience in standard office software like Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Familiarity with SAP is considered an advantage.
Internship Duration and Work Arrangements
Internships last between three to six months. Interns may work remotely or be based at AfDB’s headquarters or regional offices, depending on assignment requirements. Remote interns must have reliable internet access, while on-site interns are responsible for their travel and accommodation expenses, although the Bank assists with visa arrangements.
