Ahmadu Bello University Announces New Appointments

Ahmadu Bello University has announced two key appointments. Professor Emmanuel A. Adedokun has been appointed as the new Director of the Iya Abubakar Institute of Information and Communication Technology, replacing Muhammad Shuaibu Umar. The appointment took effect on June 16, 2025.

The Vice-Chancellor commended Prof. Adedokun's administrative and leadership qualities and expressed hope that he would enhance the institute's performance and contribute to the university's growth.

Engineer Ahmed Rufai Abubakar has also been appointed as the Acting Head of the Bulk Metering Unit for a period of six months, effective June 16, 2025. He replaces Engineer Dahiru Mu'azu Dalhat.

The Vice-Chancellor noted that Engineer Abubakar's appointment recognizes his research, energy, and academic leadership qualities and urged him to utilize his experience to improve the university's energy infrastructure.
