Ahmadu Bello University Prof. Suraj Stresses Leadership as Key to Organizational Success

Prof. Suraj Barau AbdulKarim, former Director of the Institute of Administration at Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, has stated that leadership is the backbone of any organization or state, directly influencing its success or failure.
In his inaugural lecture, "Leadership and Public Policy: The Twin Imperatives for Peace and Development in Nigeria," delivered on Wednesday, 27th November 2024, Prof. Suraj, a professor of public administration at ABU, noted that leadership is essential for guiding followers toward shared objectives.

The lecture, held at the Assembly Hall, Main Campus, Samaru, Zaria, was attended by Vice-Chancellor Prof. Kabiru Bala, who, through Prof. M.S. Shehu, congratulated Prof. Suraj for fulfilling one of the cardinal objectives of professorship. Prof. Bala also highlighted the importance of transformational leadership in Nigeria’s development.
The event concluded with the presentation of a plaque to Prof. Suraj and a group photograph.
