Ahmadu Bello University Receives N11 Million Solar System from LL.B Class of 1978

Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, has received a solar power system worth N11 million for the Faculty of Law, donated by the LL.B Class of 1978. The project, comprising a 10KVA inverter, 6.6KW solar panels, and 30KW lithium battery backup, was presented to the University Management on October 23, 2024.

Speaking at the handover ceremony, the Deputy President of the Class of 1978, Prof. Auwalu Hamisu Yadudu, highlighted that the project was funded by class members as part of their reunion pledge. The initiative aims to provide power to the faculty’s theatre halls and staff offices, alleviating challenges caused by frequent power outages.

The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Kabiru Bala, represented by Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Administration, Prof. Ahmed Doko Ibrahim, expressed the University’s gratitude, urging other alumni to contribute to the institution's development.

Prof. Salim Bashir Magashi, Dean of the Faculty of Law, noted that the solar system will greatly enhance the faculty's operations.
