Ahmadu Bello University Reiterates Ban on Illegal Use of Electrical Appliances in Student Hostels

Ahmadu Bello University has reminded students of the ban on the illegal use of electrical appliances in student hostels, as outlined in the Hall Residency Regulations and Undertaking Form. The university has emphasized the importance of responsible energy use and conservation.

Use of electrical appliances for cooking or boiling water is strictly prohibited. Use of electrical appliances for warming or heating is prohibited.

Activities such as hawking, barbing, hair dressing, baking, and business centre activities are strictly prohibited.

 Defaulters will face seizure of appliances, revocation of bed space, and forfeiture of electric appliances.Repeated offenses may result in loss of bed space.

The university's management has urged students to cooperate in promoting responsible energy use and conservation, emphasizing that funds saved will be allocated to other academic and welfare services. University Security Services personnel are on alert to detect and report defaulters for appropriate sanctions.
