Dr. Taiwo Afolabi, Chairman of Sifax Group, received the Doctor of Business Administration, Sir Gbolahan Folayan was honored with a Doctor of Finance, and Mrs. Kate Isa, Founder of Katchey Company Limited, was recognized with a Doctor of Science.

In a significant move towards advancing educational development, Dr. Tunde Afolabi, the Chancellor of Ajayi Crowther University (ACU), has generously contributed N1 billion to kickstart the university's N5 billion development fund. This noteworthy donation took place during the grand finale of ACU's 15th convocation ceremony.

Additionally, honorary doctorate degrees were conferred upon three distinguished Nigerians. Dr. Olutoyin Okeowo, the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the University's Governing Council, outlined ambitious projections for the university's future, emphasizing the need for robust and sustainable funding to achieve these goals. He acknowledged that relying solely on tuition fees is no longer practical for successful university operations.

Expressing support for the fundraising initiative, Chancellor Afolabi addressed the inadequacy of funding in Nigerian education, citing examples of renowned universities with substantial endowment funds. He pledged that ACU's development fund would be raised within a five-year period.

Notably, during the fundraiser, Barr. Afolabi, one of the awardees, donated N20 million, while the husband of Kate Isa announced a generous contribution of N50 million to further propel ACU's developmental aspirations.
