The Students’ Union Government of the Akwa Ibom State College of Education Afaha Nsit has issued a strict directive prohibiting all unauthorized meetings and events across campus, citing lapses in procedural compliance and coordination among student bodies.
The notice, signed by the SUG President, Comr. Gideon Aniefiok Henry, indicates that recent activities—including sessions convened by certain student organs such as the SUG Senate—were conducted without appropriate clearance from relevant authorities.
Under the new framework, all student-led events, committee activities, and association programmes must undergo a structured approval process. This includes initial authorization through the Office of the Dean of Students’ Affairs, followed by final clearance from the SUG President’s office.

The leadership emphasized that any event organized outside this approval structure will be considered invalid and unauthorized, with disciplinary consequences to be enforced in line with institutional regulations and the SUG constitution.
The directive, effective immediately, is framed as an administrative correction aimed at restoring order, improving oversight, and strengthening coordination among student governance structures within the institution.
The SUG further urged all stakeholders to comply strictly with the new protocol to avoid sanctions and to ensure smooth execution of legitimate campus engagements moving forward.
