AKSU Acting VC Urges Alumni to Foster Mentorship and Institutional Linkages

The Acting Vice-Chancellor of Akwa Ibom State University (AKSU), Professor Otoabasi Akpan, has called on alumni to prioritize mentoring students and leveraging their networks to drive institutional development. Professor Akpan made this appeal during the 2025 General Meeting of the Port Harcourt branch of the Alumni Association.

Professor Akpan emphasized the importance of alumni mentoring students and creating opportunities for institutional growth.The university has established four new faculties, increasing the total number of faculties to twelve, aligning with Governor Umo Eno's ARISE Agenda.

An entrepreneurship development centre, built in collaboration with Amaecom Global group, will be inaugurated in 2026, providing students with training and resources.

The Alumni Association plans to establish an ICT hub, offering training in engineering software and programming languages to AKSU students.
