Federal Polytechnic of Oil and Gas, Bonny Secured Mega Solar Grid Project

The Federal Polytechnic of Oil and Gas, Bonny, has secured a mega solar grid project from the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFUND). The project aims to provide sustainable energy supply to the institution and its environs, enhancing self-reliance and reducing reliance on fossil fuels.

The solar grid project will boost renewable energy adoption and enhance grid stability.The project will provide enough energy to facilitate self-reliance in power supply for the institution and its environs.

The project will enhance the capacity and capabilities of departments to explore and exploit advanced dimensions to practical and hands-on knowledge and experiences.

A consultant visited the polytechnic on December 2, 2025, to initiate project activities.
