Alamala Barracks Honors Covenant University Vice-Chancellor with Honorary Membership
In a gesture of recognition and goodwill, the 35AB Vulcan Warrant Officers and Sergeants' Mess from Alamala Barracks recently visited Covenant University’s Vice Chancellor, Professor Abiodun H. Adebayo, to extend their congratulations on his acceptance of an honorary membership offer from their esteemed Mess.
In a gesture of recognition and goodwill, the 35AB Vulcan Warrant Officers and Sergeants' Mess from Alamala Barracks recently visited Covenant University’s Vice Chancellor, Professor Abiodun H. Adebayo, to extend their congratulations on his acceptance of an honorary membership offer from their esteemed Mess.
The visit, which took place in the Vice Chancellor's office, was led by Engineer Kolawole Emmanuel, the General Coordinator of the visiting team. During his remarks, Emmanuel commended Professor Adebayo for his invaluable contributions to society. He highlighted the Vice Chancellor's leadership, wisdom, and exemplary character, describing him as an ideal role model deserving of the honorary membership recognition. The coordinator also requested special consideration for their members regarding postgraduate tuition fees at the university.
In response, Professor Adebayo expressed his gratitude for the honor and praised the team for their dedication to societal progress. He reaffirmed Covenant University's commitment to nurturing a new generation of leaders in Africa and emphasized the institution’s focus on positively impacting society. The Vice Chancellor assured the delegation that their request concerning tuition fees would be presented to the university's board of management, promising updates on the matter.
As part of the visit, Professor Adebayo was officially decorated with the honorary membership award, signifying a strengthened bond between Covenant University and Alamala Barracks.
Other dignitaries present at the event included Professor Solomon Oranusi, Head of the University Security Committee; Mr. Emmanuel Igban, Principal Assistant Registrar; and Ms. Chichi Ononiwu, Acting Head of Media and Corporate Affairs.
