UDUS Reschedules Matriculation Ceremony for New Students

The management of Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto (UDUS), has officially rescheduled the date of the matriculation ceremony for newly admitted students of the 2024/2025 academic session.
Recalled, the event, which was initially stipulated to hold on Wednesday, March 19th, 2025, will now kick off on Wednesday, April 9th, 2025, and the day will be a lecture for UG1 and UG2 students exclusively.
As contained in the internal memo released from the Vice Chancellor’s office and signed by Mas’udu A. Abdullahi, Assistant Registrar (AR), the decision was made during the university’s fifth management meeting of the year, held on March 4, 2025.
The internal memo addressed to the Chairman of the Ceremonies Committee, Prof. S. A. Yakasai, aims to ensure proper planning and a smooth matriculation process.
The memo reads in part, “You may wish to recall that the university management at its 5th (2025) meeting held on Tuesday, 4th March, 2025, deliberated on the matriculation of the newly admitted students of the 2024/2025 academic session earlier scheduled to hold on Wednesday, 19th March 2025.”
“After deliberation, the management decided to reschedule the Matriculation Ceremony to hold on Wednesday, 9th April, 2025. Furthermore, this day (9th April, 2025) has been designated a lecture-free day for UG-I and UG-II students exclusively.”
“This is forwarded for your information and further necessary action, please,” the memo concluded."
