ASUU-ADUSTECH Embarks on Two-Week Warning Strike

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), Aliko Dangote University of Science and Technology, Wudil branch, has embarked on a two-week warning strike effective immediately. This decision was made after a Special Congress meeting held on Wednesday, 29th May, 2024.

The strike is a result of the university administration and Kano State government's failure to address the union's demands, despite interventions from various stakeholders, including the zonal and national leadership of ASUU. The issues leading to the strike include:

1. Non-reinstatement of the Governing Council

2. Non-payment of outstanding entitlements

3. Gross underfunding of the university

The union is appealing to well-meaning individuals in Kano State and Nigeria to prevail on the government to address these issues to avoid further escalation.
