The ultimatum was declared by Comrade Salim Ahmed, Chairperson of ASUU at the Federal University Dutse (FUD), in Jigawa state.
The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has issued a stern warning to the Nigerian Government, threatening to embark on a fresh strike if their demands are not met within three weeks. The ultimatum was declared by Comrade Salim Ahmed, Chairperson of ASUU at the Federal University Dutse (FUD), during an emergency press conference held at the ASUU Secretariat in Dutse, Jigawa State.

Addressing the media, Comrade Salim Ahmed expressed the union's frustration over the government's delay in addressing critical issues affecting university staff and operations. He emphasized that ASUU's decision was a last resort after prolonged waiting for a response from the authorities.
"That's the problem with the government. If ASUU embarks on any strike action, the government will want Nigerians to go against the Union. This is long overdue but till now no response. Government is continuity, there will not be a need for excuses," remarked one commentator, reflecting widespread sentiments of discontent and disillusionment.
Another concern voiced during the press conference was the potential implementation of "No Work, No Pay" policies by the government, which could exacerbate tensions between ASUU and the authorities.
