ASUU Suspends Indefinite Strike at Sa'adu Zungur University

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), Sa'adu Zungur University Branch, has suspended its total, comprehensive, and indefinite strike action, which began on November 29, 2024.

 

The decision to suspend the strike was made at an emergency congress meeting held on December 14, 2024, following fruitful engagements with the Governor of Bauchi State, who also serves as the Visitor to the University.

According to ASUU, the Governor demonstrated a willingness to address the union's concerns, initiating immediate actions to resolve the issues. The union commended the Governor for his proactive approach, which reflects the government's dedication to advancing education in Bauchi State.

The suspension of the strike takes immediate effect, and the union has called on all academic staff to resume their duties and continue providing services to the university community.

 

However, ASUU emphasized that it will remain vigilant and committed to ensuring that the agreements reached are honored.
