In a benevolent move aimed at supporting academic excellence and lessening financial burdens, the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has awarded scholarships to 30 deserving students of Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka, Anambra.

The beneficiaries, all undergraduates, encompass a diverse range of disciplines and include one student living with disabilities. Prof. Ubaoji emphasized that the selection process was rigorous, with candidates chosen based on their applications and interviews, ensuring the scholarships were granted to those most deserving. "The union's responsibility extends beyond strikes; we are committed to nurturing the academic aspirations of talented students from underprivileged backgrounds," Prof. Ubaoji emphasized. He encouraged the beneficiaries to utilize the funds wisely, suggesting they invest in ventures that would yield future dividends.

With over a hundred applicants, the selection process was highly competitive, with only thirty students securing the scholarships. Prof. Ubaoji assured that this act of generosity would become a recurring quarterly program, fostering encouragement and support for deserving students.

The gesture underscores ASUU's dedication not only to the academic welfare of students but also to fostering a culture of inclusivity and excellence within the Nigerian educational landscape.
