ASUU-YUMSUK Branch Embark on Two-Week Warning Strike

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), Yusuf Maitama Sule University, Kano Branch, held its Congress meeting on Wednesday, 29th May, 2024, at Muhammad Sanusi Theater, Main Campus.

The meeting was attended by the National Executive Council (NEC) delegation and branch members.

After thorough deliberations, the Congress resolved as follows:

1. All outstanding issues presented to the National Executive Council remain unresolved, reaffirming the branch's previous resolution for strike action.

2. The branch will embark on a two-week warning strike, effective immediately. If no significant commitment is received from the government, the branch will proceed with an indefinite strike.

The resolutions were adopted to address the lingering issues affecting the university community, including the welfare and working conditions of academic staff.

The branch secretary, Dr. Yusuf Ahmed Gwarzo, and branch chairperson, Dr. Mansur Said, signed the resolutions.
