The Bauchi State Police Command has affirmed its commitment to ensuring the safety of students and the protection of property within and around tertiary institutions in the state.

During a stakeholder security summit organized by the Bauchi Axis of Joint Campus Council under the National Association of Nigerian Students, Bauchi State Commissioner of Police, Auwal Musa Muhammad, represented by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Ahmed Muhammad Wakil, assured attendees of the implementation of strategies to mitigate insecurity. These strategies include establishing police outposts near campuses, such as the Sabon Kaura outpost near Yelwa campus of Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University.

He emphasized the urgency of finding solutions in light of recent tragic incidents, including the death of a student from ATBU.

Stakeholders, including government officials, security agencies, traditional institutions, representatives of various tertiary institutions, and student union leaders, convened to discuss Nigeria's security challenges and explore holistic approaches to address them.
