Bayero University Kano and KIRCT to Sign MoU on Genomics and Research Collaboration

Bayero University Kano (BUK) and the Kano Independent Research Centre Trust (KIRCT) have announced plans to formalise a strategic partnership aimed at advancing genomics and other priority research sectors.

The decision was reached on Monday, December 22, 2025, during a high-level courtesy visit by the Director-General of KIRCT, Prof. Hamisu Salihu, to the Vice-Chancellor of BUK, Prof. Haruna Musa. The upcoming Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) seeks to institutionalise a long-standing relationship between the two organisations in the areas of capacity building, internships, and high-impact research.
