The Department of Geology, Faculty of Earth and Environmental Sciences at Bayero University, Kano (BUK), has announced the availability of its Professional Masters Degree in GeoEnergy for the 2024/2025 academic session. The program aims to equip candidates with in-depth knowledge of the energy sector and prepare them for the transition to carbon-neutral energy solutions.
This comprehensive one-year program will provide students with a strong foundation in locating and evaluating emerging GeoEnergy resources. It will also offer insights into various sustainable energy options, including geothermal energy, hydrogen energy, critical minerals for energy, carbon capture utilization, and energy storage.
Eligibility Criteria
Prospective candidates must meet the following qualifications:

A minimum of a Second-Class Lower Bachelor's degree in Geosciences, Engineering, Environmental, Basic and Applied Sciences, or any other relevant discipline.

Candidates with a Third-Class degree or HND (Lower Credit) must possess a Postgraduate Diploma in a relevant field with a minimum classification of merit.
