Bayero University Kano Translates Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics Textbooks into Hausa Language
Bayero University Kano (BUK) has successfully concluded the translation of Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics textbooks into the Hausa language. This groundbreaking initiative aims to make science education more accessible to Hausa-speaking students and enhance their understanding of these critical subjects.
The project, led by a team of expert translators and educators at BUK, reflects the university's commitment to promoting education in local languages and improving educational outcomes in the region. The translated textbooks are expected to benefit thousands of students across northern Nigeria, where Hausa is widely spoken.

The initiative aligns with broader educational goals to support mother-tongue instruction, which has been shown to enhance comprehension and retention of complex material. By providing these textbooks in Hausa, BUK is helping to bridge the gap between students and scientific knowledge.

The translated textbooks will be distributed to secondary schools and tertiary institutions in the Hausa-speaking regions. This effort is expected to foster a deeper interest in science and technology among students and pave the way for more localized educational resources in the future.
This translation project is part of BUK's ongoing efforts to support educational development and cultural preservation in Nigeria. The university plans to continue expanding its range of translated educational materials to cover more subjects and reach a broader audience.
