The Management of Reverend Father Moses Orshio Adasu University, Makurdi, has alerted staff, students, and the general public to the existence of a fraudulent Facebook account impersonating the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Timothy Terseer Alabar.

The Management of Reverend Father Moses Orshio Adasu University, Makurdi, has alerted staff, students, and the general public to the existence of a fraudulent Facebook account impersonating the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Timothy Terseer Alabar.

According to the University, the fake account is being operated by criminal elements who are using it to mislead unsuspecting individuals, solicit money, and circulate false opportunities and transactions. The institution described the act as deliberate impersonation and a serious criminal offence.

For clarity, the University stressed that Professor Timothy Terseer Alabar does not use Facebook or any social media platform to conduct official university business, offer contracts, process admissions, or request financial payments in any form.

Members of the public have therefore been strongly advised to exercise caution and adhere strictly to the following directives:

  • Ignore and immediately block any suspicious accounts or messages claiming affiliation with the Vice-Chancellor or the University.
  • Refrain from engaging or responding to individuals behind such accounts.
  • Report all suspicious activities to the appropriate security agencies without delay.

The Management further disclosed that it is working with relevant authorities to track and prosecute those responsible for the impersonation. It warned that anyone found culpable will face the full weight of the law.

The University expressed appreciation to the public for their vigilance and urged wider circulation of the notice to prevent further exploitation by fraudulent actors.
