Borno Gov't Commissions Projects in 3 Schools in Maiduguri

The Borno State Government has commissioned new school infrastructure across three secondary schools in Maiduguri Metropolitan Council (MMC) and Jere Local Government Area, reinforcing its commitment to expanding access to quality education.

Commissioner for Education, Science, Technology and Innovation, Engr Lawan Abba Wakilbe, who led the commissioning, said the projects reflect Governor Babagana Umara Zulum’s continuous investment in modern, well-equipped learning environments.

“We are improving classrooms, expanding capacity, and ensuring every child has a safe place to learn,” he said.

At Muna Koleri and CBDA Junior Day Secondary Schools, the Commissioner commissioned two blocks of nine classrooms each.

The Bulabulin Alajiri Government Day Secondary School also received major upgrades, including an administrative block, four laboratories, and 40 classrooms.

Engr Wakilbe assured the public of sustained security in all schools, noting that the recent panic at GGC Maiduguri was based on a false alarm.

“Our schools are safe. There has been no breach of security in any public school in Borno,” he stated.
