Borno State University VC Urges Students to Apply for NELFUND Loans
The Vice-Chancellor of Borno State University (BOSU), Prof. Babagana Gutti, has urged students to apply for the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) loan, emphasizing its benefits in supporting their education with repayment required only after securing employment.
The Vice-Chancellor of Borno State University (BOSU), Prof. Babagana Gutti, has encouraged students to leverage the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NEL Fund) Scholarship as a means of supporting their academic pursuits.
Prof. Gutti made this call during a congratulatory visit by members of the Muslim Students Society (MSS), Borno State University Chapter, to his office. Highlighting the benefits of the scholarship, he explained that the NEL Fund provides financial assistance to students, with the repayment obligation commencing only after the beneficiaries secure employment.
The Vice-Chancellor emphasized the importance of such opportunities in enabling students to achieve their educational goals. He further advised the students to engage with the Dean of Student Affairs to ensure their concerns and needs are adequately addressed.
Prof. Gutti also underscored the significance of fostering mutual relationships between students and the university administration, commending the MSS members for their visit and their efforts to promote unity among the student body.
In his remarks, the MSS Ameer, Hassan Umar, congratulated Prof. Gutti on his appointment and expressed appreciation for his leadership and advice. Umar noted that the society has experienced positive changes under the Vice-Chancellor's administration, including increased attendance at the central mosque for Juma’at prayers, particularly by female Muslim students.
The Ameer reaffirmed the MSS's commitment to collaborating with the university leadership to achieve academic excellence.
The highlight of the event was the presentation of a certificate and an Award of Excellence to Prof. Gutti by the MSS, recognizing his contributions to the university community.
