Borno State University Vice Chancellor Pays Courtesy Visit to Attorney General

Professor Babagana Gutti, Vice Chancellor of Borno State University (BOSU), paid a courtesy visit to Barrister Hauwa Abubakar, Attorney General and Commissioner of Justice for Borno State, at her office in Maiduguri.

The visit aimed to foster collaboration and discuss key issues pertinent to the university's growth.

Barrister Abubakar welcomed Professor Gutti and his management team, commending the decision to rename the university after Sir Kashim Ibrahim, which she described as a "very good decision." She assured the team of speedy processing for issues related to the renaming, which will be sent to the State Assembly for legislative procedures and executive assent. This is necessary for recognition by the National Universities Commission (NUC), the primary regulator of universities in Nigeria.

During the visit, Director Legal Barr. Dr. Yahaya M. Dunoma requested assistance for the university's security outfit, which the Attorney General pledged to address. Professor Gutti expressed gratitude for the warm reception and anticipated support, highlighting the importance of synergy with the Justice Ministry on legal issues affecting government agencies and parastatals in the state.

 

This courtesy visit underscores Borno State University's efforts to build strong relationships with government agencies and parastatals as it commences its second phase of development.
