I thought it is worth a shot, but the chance is crazy," Chloe explained.

In a remarkable achievement, 18-year-old Chloe Smith, an A-Levels student at Elliott Hudson College in South Leeds, has emerged victorious in a fierce competition, securing a coveted £60,000 scholarship to pursue a four-year undergraduate degree in Computer Science and Electrical Engineering at the prestigious Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in the United States.

Out of 20,000 applicants vying for the scholarship, Chloe beat the odds, as only four percent of applicants succeeded. The scholarship will cover tuition fees, living expenses, and medical insurance, amounting to a substantial $84,000 per year.

Chloe expressed her excitement and gratitude, highlighting the transformative impact of the scholarship on her academic journey. "Without the scholarship, I could never have gone to university, and I would have had to get a loan to pay tuition fees at a university in the United Kingdom," she stated.

I have never been to another country, never mind America. It really is a shot in the dark. Outside university, the culture I find really interesting, it will be fun for definite," she shared.

Chloe's passion for science and technology dates back to her childhood. "When I was six, I wanted to be a scientist. I have always been better at maths than English and at GCSE wanted to do computer science, and a couple of years later I am going to MIT to study it," she recalled.
