BUK Maintains Position as 5th Best University in Nigeria

The management of Bayero University, Kano (BUK) has announced that the institution has retained its position as the 5th best university in Nigeria, according to the 2024 global university ranking released by Times Higher Education (THE) of the United Kingdom.

This was disclosed by the Vice Chancellor, Professor Sagir Adamu Abbas, during a courtesy visit to the Speaker of the Kano State House of Assembly, Alhaji Jibril Isma'ila Falgore, on Tuesday, 23rd April, 2024.

Professor Abbas attributed the university's consistent ranking to the commitment and effort of the university community, noting that BUK is the best university not only in the north but also in the remaining five geopolitical zones of the country.

The top four universities in the ranking are all located in the southwest region, namely: Covenant University, University of Ibadan, Federal University of Technology, Akure, and University of Lagos.

The Vice Chancellor's visit to the Speaker was aimed at fostering a strong relationship between the university and the state government, and to explore areas of collaboration and support for the institution's continued growth and development."
