BUK Students' Representatives Assembly Calls for Cancellation of Picnic Over Security Concerns

The Students' Representatives Assembly (SRA) of Bayero University, Kano, has written to the Dean of Students' Affairs, requesting the cancellation of a planned picnic organized by the Student Union Government (SUG) due to significant security risks.

The SRA Speaker, RT. Hon. Jafar Ibn Jafar, cited concerns raised by individuals and senators regarding the current security situation on campus, including reports of theft, robbery, poor living conditions, and lack of essential services.

The planned picnic, scheduled to take place outside Kano town, poses a risk to students' safety and violates constitutional guidelines on entertainment, according to the SRA.
