BUK Students’ Union Issues Stern Warning Against Misconduct During Political Activities
The Caretaker Committee (CTC) of the Students’ Union Government (SUG) at Bayero University, Kano (BUK), has issued a formal warning to the student body regarding discipline and campus conduct during political rallies and campaigns.
In a statement signed by the SUG CTC Public Relations Officer, Sen. Yahya Lawan Rimin Kebe, the union emphasized that while political engagement is permitted, it must be conducted strictly within the framework of university regulations.
The Union expressed concern over potential disruptions, stating that it will not tolerate incivility or any behavior that threatens the security of students and staff. "The CTC will not tolerate any act of incivility, disruption, or behavior that compromises the safety and security of the university community," the statement read.
The union further warned that any student found defaulting or violating established codes of conduct would face "the full wrath of the University regulations."
The SUG CTC specifically lauded the proactive intervention of the Dean of Student Affairs, Professor Mukhtar Ridwan Bunza, for his efforts in maintaining a conducive and peaceful environment on campus.
This directive follows the university management's ongoing efforts to ensure that Bayero University, Kano remains a center for learning and character development, free from the volatility often associated with political activities.
