BUK Team Attends 11th ACSPN Conference in Lagos

A team from Bayero University, Kano (BUK) participated in the 11th Annual Conference of the Association of Communication Scholars and Professionals of Nigeria (ACSPN) held at Airport Hotel, Ikeja, Lagos. The conference theme was "Digital Communication and Governance in Africa."

Outgoing ACSPN President and Vice Chancellor of Federal University, Kashere, Professor Umaru Pate, emphasized the importance of network and relationship building among scholars and practitioners in his opening address.

The keynote speaker, Mr. Dapo Olorunyomi, Publisher of Premium Times, discussed the challenges facing Africa's news media industry, including funding and information disorder. He highlighted the potential of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in enhancing public service delivery, inclusivity, good governance, growth, and accountability, but cautioned against unethical deployment.

The conference resolved to:
