The Centre for Dryland Agriculture (CDA), Bayero University Kano, has unveiled a state-of-the-art Guard House designed to bolster campus security using advanced technology.

The facility, commissioned by Vice-Chancellor Professor Sagir Adamu Abbas on Wednesday, June 4, 2025, features biometric access, real-time surveillance, and an independent power source. It stands as a model for integrating physical security with digital safeguards.

replicating. "This installation raises the standard for campus security," he said after inspecting the system's eye-scan and fingerprint technology.

CDA Director Professor Jibrin Mohammed Jibrin explained that the Guard House includes modern surveillance, water supply, and staff conveniences all running independently of the Centre's main power grid.
