In a shocking incident at Federal Polytechnic Nekede, tragedy befell the institution as a student was allegedly killed by a caretaker over a dispute concerning house rent.

The victim, identified as Mr. Anthony, an ND1 student in the Department of Building Technology, reportedly resided at Ezinwanne Lodge in Nekede. According to sources, the caretaker of the lodge had demanded that Anthony renew his rent, but the student pleaded for more time to settle his bills.

Tensions escalated during the exchange, leading to a confrontation between Anthony and the caretaker. Witnesses claim the caretaker struck Anthony on the head with a wooden stick during the heated argument. The blow proved fatal as Anthony collapsed on the spot.
