Chemical Society of Nigeria Hosts Induction Ceremony and Public Lecture at Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University
The Chemical Society invites the general public to join this significant event aimed at fostering the development of future chemists in the region.
The Chemical Society of Nigeria, Bauchi State Chapter, in collaboration with the Department of Chemistry at Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University (ATBU), is set to host the first Induction Ceremony of Graduate Members along with a public lecture on Saturday, October 5, 2024.
The theme for the event is "Empowering the Next Generation of Chemists: Shaping a Future of Innovation and Impact," which will feature two sub-themes: "The Chemist Entrepreneur: A Panacea for Successful Development" and "Chemistry in the Age of Innovation and Responsibility."
The event will be held at 9:00 AM at the university. Prof. Sani Usman Kunya, the Acting Vice Chancellor of ATBU, will serve as the Chief Host, while Dr. A. A. Mahmood, Head of the Department of Chemistry, will act as the host.
Dr. Haruna Adamu will deliver the keynote address, with additional insights from Prof. Mrs. D.E.A. Boryo. Guests of honor include Hon. Dr. Zainab Baban Takko, Honorable Commissioner for Women Affairs and Child Development; CP Auwal Musa Muhammad, Commissioner of Police Bauchi State Command; Hon. Haruna Ismail Dabo, Member of the House of Representatives for Toro Federal Constituency; and Hon. Babayo Othman A. Liman, Special Adviser on Internal Security to the Governor of Bauchi State.
