Babcock University and the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN) have commenced the construction of a 160-seater fully digitalized Bankers Hall at the university's Ilishan-Remo campus.

Babcock University and the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN) have marked a significant milestone in their partnership with the groundbreaking of the Bankers Hall, a 160-seater fully digitalized endowment project.

The event, held on January 24, 2025, at the university's main campus in Ilishan-Remo, Ogun State, was attended by key stakeholders, including CIBN executives, the Olofi of Ilishan, Oba Mojeed Sonuga, as well as university principal officers, students, staff, and faculty members.

The Bankers Hall, designed to enhance financial education and professional banking training, aligns with CIBN’s commitment to supporting academic institutions with modern infrastructure. The facility is expected to provide an advanced learning environment for banking and finance students, equipping them with the necessary digital skills for the evolving financial sector.

Speaking at the event, CIBN President and Chairman of Council, Dr. Ken Opara, emphasized the institute’s dedication to fostering financial literacy and professional excellence among students. He reiterated that the project symbolizes the institute’s unwavering support for capacity-building in Nigeria’s banking sector.

Babcock University’s Vice-Chancellor, Professor Ademola Tayo, expressed gratitude to CIBN for the generous donation, noting that the multimedia hall would significantly improve teaching and research in finance-related disciplines. He highlighted the university’s commitment to nurturing future banking professionals who are well-versed in modern financial technologies.
