COE Akwanga Provost Urges Students to Manage Finances at 2024/2025 SUG and NASSA Inauguration

In a ceremony marking the inauguration of the 2024/2025 Students Union Government (SUG) and Nasarawa State Students' Association (NASSA) at the College of Education Akwanga, the Provost, Rev. Dr. Jonathan Wakili Thani, emphasized the importance of financial management for students while commending the outgoing student leaders for their commitment to the college.

The event, held on September 13, 2024, also celebrated the peaceful conduct of the elections. Dr. Thani encouraged the newly inaugurated student leaders to uphold discipline, maintain the school’s ethics, and avoid excessive spending. He also stressed the need for students to be law-abiding and responsible, highlighting the role of the SUG and NASSA in fostering patriotism and good conduct among students.

The Registrar, Mr. Ojikpa Yakubu Alem, administered the oath of office to the newly elected officials, urging them to be good ambassadors of the college. The new SUG President, Comrade John Bitrus, in his acceptance speech, promised to continue the legacy of inclusive leadership and responsible governance.
