COOU, UNIZIK Explore Strategic Partnership to Boost Business Ventures and Investment

The Directorate of Business Ventures and Consultancy Unit (BVU) of Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK), Awka, on Monday, September 1, 2025, hosted a delegation from the Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University (COOU) Business Ventures Committee for discussions on strengthening business collaboration and investment exchange.

The Directorate of Business Ventures and Consultancy Unit (BVU) of Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK), Awka, on Monday, September 1, 2025, hosted a delegation from the Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University (COOU) Business Ventures Committee for discussions on strengthening business collaboration and investment exchange.

The UNIZIK team was led by the Director of BVU, Engr. Dr. Ikenna Ubah, alongside the Directorate’s Administrative Secretary, Lady Peculiar Nweke; the Head of Business Management, Mr. Adum Daniel Onyeka; and the Director of Chisco Institute of Logistics and Supply Chain Management, Engr. Dr. Tochukwu Onyeyili.

The COOU delegation was headed by the Coordinator of its Business Ventures Committee, Mr. Collins Okelue, accompanied by Dr. Gideon Nwafor and Mr. Nnamdi Enweonwu. Both institutions exchanged ideas on potential partnerships, investment transfer, and strategies for boosting internally generated revenue (IGR).

Mr. Okelue emphasized the importance of synergy between both universities in strengthening business prospects. He thanked the COOU Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Kate Azuka Omenugha, for entrusting him and his team with the responsibility of driving business initiatives, while calling on UNIZIK BVU to support COOU’s IGR efforts through investor collaboration.

In his response, Engr. Dr. Ubah congratulated Prof. Omenugha on her confirmation as substantive Vice-Chancellor of COOU by the Anambra State Government, pledging his support for collaborative growth in business ventures. He assured the COOU delegation of UNIZIK’s readiness to assist in expanding existing ventures and exploring new opportunities.

As part of the engagement, Dr. Ubah facilitated a direct introduction between the COOU team and a representative of Samsung Bay. The technology company is now set to establish a display bay and show space at COOU’s Igbariam campus, marking a concrete step toward realising the collaboration discussed.

Both sides agreed to continue engagements with the goal of translating discussions into practical outcomes that would benefit the universities, their students, and their host communities.
