Covenant University Leads 2025 World Cancer Day Awareness Campaign in Ota
Covenant University’s CApIC-ACE, in collaboration with the Prostate Cancer Transatlantic Consortium (CAPTC) and Beulah World Initiative (BWI), organized an awareness campaign for the 2025 World Cancer Day in Ota, Ogun State.

Covenant Applied Informatics and Communication Africa Centre of Excellence (CApIC-ACE), Covenant University, Ota, Ogun State, in collaboration with the Prostate Cancer Transatlantic Consortium (CAPTC) and Beulah World Initiative (BWI), spearheaded an awareness campaign to mark the 2025 World Cancer Day.
As part of the commemorative activities, the event’s organizing team made a special gift presentation to Alhaji Junaid Wasiu, Head of the Council and Representative of the Adodo-Otta Local Government Chairman, Hon. Wasiu Lawal.
The campaign aimed to raise public consciousness on cancer prevention, early detection, and treatment strategies. Participants were sensitized on the significance of regular medical check-ups, healthy lifestyles, and early intervention in reducing cancer-related fatalities. The initiative aligns with the global objective of World Cancer Day to encourage proactive health practices and community engagement in the fight against cancer.
The successful hosting of the event by Covenant University and its partners underscores the institution’s commitment to research, innovation, and public health advocacy.
