Dr. (Mrs.) Adeola Fausat Afolabi Appointed Acting Librarian at Adeyemi Federal University of Education
The Management of Adeyemi Federal University of Education (AFUED) has announced the appointment of Dr. (Mrs.) Adeola Fausat Afolabi as the Acting Librarian.
The Management of Adeyemi Federal University of Education (AFUED) has announced the appointment of Dr. (Mrs.) Adeola Fausat Afolabi as the Acting Librarian. This appointment follows the completion of the tenure of the previous Acting University Librarian, Dr. Azino Akpokuriere.
The appointment was officially communicated through a memo issued by the University Acting Registrar, Mrs. Olufisayo Fakorede. Dr. Afolabi will serve in the acting capacity until a substantive University Librarian is appointed by the Governing Council.

Dr. Afolabi, born on September 3, 1965, in Ola, Osun State, completed her secondary education at Baptist Grammar School, Ola. She holds a B.Sc in Psychology and an M.Sc in Library and Information Studies from the University of Ibadan, and a Ph.D. in Information Literacy and Library Service Patronage from the University of Nigeria.
Her professional journey began in 1999 at Ahmadu Bello Academy, Fararu, Sokoto State, where she taught History. She later taught Social Studies at Government Girls College, Bodinga. Dr. Afolabi joined AFUED in 2007 as Librarian I and has held several key positions, including Head of Circulation Unit, Head of Cataloguing Unit, Head of Acquisition Unit, and Head of Readers’ Services.
Dr. Afolabi has also contributed to various university committees and professional bodies, including the Nigerian Library Association (NLA), Librarian Registration Council of Nigeria (LRCN), and Teachers’ Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN). She has published numerous books, articles, and scholarly works in reputable journals.

Dr. (Mrs.) Adeola Fausat Afolabi is married to Dr. A. K. Afolabi, and they have children. The university community looks forward to her continued contributions in her new role as Acting Librarian.
