In a significant development for the Emmanuel Alayande University of Education, Oyo, Dr. Olatundun Oyewumi has been appointed as the institution's inaugural University Librarian. Dr. Oyewumi, previously the Librarian at Oyo State College of Agriculture and Technology (OYSCATECH), Igboora, brings a wealth of experience and expertise to her new role.

The Rector of OYSCATECH, Professor Akinola Akinlabi, along with the institution's management, staff, and students, have expressed their joy and pride over this appointment. In a congratulatory message signed by the Registrar, Mr. R.F.A. Adeniji, Professor Akinlabi highlighted Dr. Oyewumi's distinguished career and her significant contributions to the OYSCATECH Library. He expressed confidence that her new position would lead to the rapid development of the Emmanuel Alayande University Library and the institution as a whole.

Dr. Oyewumi's impressive academic background includes a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, as well as Master's and PhD degrees in Library Studies from the University of Ibadan. She is a chartered Librarian with the Librarian Registration Council of Nigeria and holds a Certificate in Electronic Data Processing from Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH).

Her career in Library Science began at the Olusegun Oke Library, LAUTECH, where she rose from Librarian-in-Training to Deputy University Librarian by 2010. Dr. Oyewumi's extensive experience and dedication to the field of Library Science are expected to significantly enhance the educational resources and research capabilities at Emmanuel Alayande University.

Professor Akinlabi wished Dr. Oyewumi a successful tenure and prayed for divine wisdom in her new responsibilities. Dr. Oyewumi's appointment is seen as a pivotal step towards the growth and advancement of Emmanuel Alayande University of Education.
