Edo State University, Iyamho has announced a strategic partnership with Zenith Bank Plc to launch an Award of Excellence Initiative aimed at recognising and rewarding outstanding graduating students in the Faculty of Management and Social Sciences.
Edo State University, Iyamho has announced a strategic partnership with Zenith Bank Plc to launch an Award of Excellence Initiative aimed at recognising and rewarding outstanding graduating students in the Faculty of Management and Social Sciences.
The initiative is designed as a merit-based intervention to reinforce academic competitiveness, encourage excellence, and strengthen leadership development among students. It targets final-year students with the highest Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) across selected departments within the faculty.
Under the scheme, six departments are covered. These include Accounting, Business Administration, Banking and Finance, Economics, Sociology, and Entrepreneurship. In each of these departments, the best graduating student will receive a cash prize of N500,000 during the university’s convocation ceremony.
According to the university, the award is structured not only as a reward mechanism but also as a long-term motivation framework intended to sustain high academic performance and foster a culture of discipline, innovation, and leadership among students.

The Award of Excellence Initiative is scheduled to run for five consecutive academic sessions, reflecting a sustained partnership between the university and Zenith Bank Plc.
The institution described the collaboration as a shared commitment to producing graduates who are academically sound and professionally prepared to contribute meaningfully to industry, governance, and entrepreneurship.
