EFCC Establishes "Zero Tolerance Club" at Shehu Sule College of Nursing Sciences, Damaturu
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has taken its anti-corruption advocacy to Shehu Sule College of Nursing Sciences, Damaturu, with a sensitisation programme and the formal inauguration of the Students’ Zero Tolerance Club.
The initiative aims to catch students young, educating them on the dangers of economic and financial crimes including cybercrime, examination malpractice, and impersonation while instilling a culture of integrity and accountability. Members of the new club will serve as vanguards against corrupt practices within their school and beyond.

In his welcome address the provost of the College Mallam Ibrahim Mamman Nasir lauded the commission’s efforts, pledging full support for the club’s activities and charged students to avoid all forms of social vices within and outside the campus. He emphasized their role as future leaders and the importance of maintaining integrity, while appreciating the Commission for organising the programme aimed at guiding students on the right path.
Speaking at the event, the EFCC Chairman, Ola Olukoyede, who was represented by the Head of the Public Affairs Department, Maiduguri Zonal Command, Jamilu Saliu, urged students to understand their responsibilities and familiarise themselves with the Commission’s mandate, particularly in combating corruption, financial crimes, and related offences. The Zonal Head was accompanied by Babakura Galtimari and Salisu Mohammed
The officials encouraged the nursing students to be ambassadors of honesty in their future healthcare careers.
The newly inaugurated executives of the Students’ Zero Tolerance Club include Alkali Bala Muhammad Chairman, Adullahi Tela Dahiru Secretary and Amina Hassan Daya as Treasurer, the inaugurated executives were charged to promote the ideals and objectives of the Commission.
