Ekiti State University (EKSU) Denies Imposing Unauthorized Fees on Students

In a recent press release issued on the 23rd of October, 2023, the Management of Ekiti State University, Ado-Ekiti (EKSU), refuted claims circulating online that the university has imposed an additional fee of ₦49,000.00 on its students. The trending news, titled "Digital Training Isonu #SAY NO TO EXTORTION," has accused the university of engaging in extortionary practices.

EKSU's Management has responded swiftly, stating that it is not aware of any such unauthorized fee and has initiated an investigation to unearth the truth behind the allegations. Importantly, the said illegal fee is not a requirement for the ongoing revalidation of studentship exercise. Therefore, the management unequivocally advises all students against making any payments related to this unauthorized fee.

The university administration has urged students to disregard the fake news and continue with their normal academic activities without any concerns regarding additional financial burdens.

In addition to this, the Management has assured both students and the general public that those responsible for spreading the false information will face disciplinary actions as soon as the investigation is concluded.
