Ekiti State University Ado Ekiti has received a ₦100 million donation from an alumnus, Engr. Dipo Bamisaye, to support infrastructural development within its Faculty of Engineering.

The donation was announced on Thursday, 9 April 2026, during a foundation-laying and fundraising engagement for a proposed ultra-modern five-in-one lecture theatre project.

The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Babatola Ayodele, described the contribution as a major boost to the university’s ongoing infrastructure expansion drive, commending the alumnus for sustained support toward institutional development and student welfare.

He highlighted several previous interventions by the donor, including the construction of a 2-kilometre access road linking the EKSU Alumni Village to the College of Medicine, development of a 200-bed hostel facility for medical students, establishment of the EKSU FM radio station, and continued support for indigent students.

The Vice-Chancellor noted that these contributions have had direct academic and infrastructural impact across multiple faculties and have strengthened accreditation outcomes in relevant programmes.

Also speaking, the Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Environment, Iyin-Ekiti, Engr. Prof. Gbenga Aribisala, who reportedly mentored the donor during his undergraduate studies, described him as an example of impactful alumni engagement and service-driven leadership.

The university community welcomed the donation as part of ongoing efforts to expand academic infrastructure and improve learning facilities for engineering students.
