EKSU Promotes Pius Ade-Ojo to Professorship in Obstetrics and Gynecology
Ekiti State University (EKSU), Ado-Ekiti, has promoted renowned Obstetrician and Gynecologist, Pius Ade-Ojo, to the rank of Professor.
Ekiti State University (EKSU), Ado-Ekiti, has promoted renowned Obstetrician and Gynecologist, Pius Ade-Ojo, to the rank of Professor.
The elevation was officially announced by the Appointment and Promotion Committee of the institution.
Professor Ade-Ojo, previously a Senior Lecturer in EKSU’s Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, also serves as a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynecologist at the Ekiti State University Teaching Hospital (EKSUTH). He is the Chief Executive Officer of Women and Children Development and Health Research Initiative (WCDHRI).
He earned his M.B.B.S in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Ilorin and a Masters in Business Administration from EKSU. His postgraduate training at the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria awarded him Fellowships from both the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria and the West African College of Surgeons, completed at Obafemi Awolowo Teaching Hospital Complex, Ile-Ife.

Professor Ade-Ojo has held key administrative positions, including Pioneer Coordinator and past Acting Head of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at EKSUTH, past Representative of Congregation in the University Senate, and member of the College of Medicine Internal Generated Revenue Committee.
Between 2008 and 2010, he served as Chairman of the Nigeria Medical Association (NMA), Ekiti State Chapter, where he oversaw the completion of Phase 1 of the Doctors’ Quarters, laid foundations for Phase 2, conceptualized the NMA Ekiti Bye-Laws, and founded the NMA Cooperative Society.
A passionate advocate for reproductive health, Professor Ade-Ojo was former Chairperson of Planned Parenthood Federation of Nigeria Volunteers, Ekiti State Chapter, and former President of the Ado Metropolitan Lions Club, District 404B2, Nigeria. He has published over 60 articles in reputable medical journals and contributed to numerous research studies.
Recently, he was honored as a Papal Knight in the Order of Saint Sylvester by Pope Francis, recognizing his outstanding service and contributions to the community.
