The Management of the Federal University of Health Sciences, Otukpo (FUHSO) has assured staff and students of the safety of their lives and property following the volatile security situation within the Otukpo metropolis.
Addressing members of the university community, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Francis Aba Uba, urged staff and students to remain calm and continue with their lawful activities. He assured that adequate security measures have been put in place to forestall any breach of peace.
Prof. Uba emphasized that the security and welfare of students and staff remain the Management’s utmost priority, adding that the University is not resting on its oars to ensure the safety of the university community.
Also speaking, the Chief Security Officer, Mr. Michael Anebi, disclosed that additional security personnel have been deployed across the university’s campuses. He urged staff and students to go about their legitimate activities without fear, remain security conscious, and report any suspicious movements to the appropriate authorities.

The University recalled that the Vice-Chancellor had earlier directed the issuance of a security advisory to the university community on July 1, 2026, as part of proactive steps to safeguard lives and property.
FUHSO Management reassured all members of the university community that it is working closely with relevant security agencies and will continue to monitor developments to maintain a peaceful and secure learning environment.
